Divorce, Custody and Support Overview
Since 1972, the firm of Connolly, Tacon & Meserve has been providing advice to clients
in family law. We have developed a practice in this
area that we believe is superior to any found at any
law firm in the area.
Whether your case is a multi-million dollar estate
or an uncontested dissolution action, CTM has the
expertise and experience to assist you. Always an
integral part of the firm's practice, family law is
one of the most difficult areas of law in which to
be proficient, requiring a balanced blend of
sensitivity, compassion, business acumen, legal
knowledge and litigation skills. We believe every
family law case is important and that every family
law client is entitled to be treated with respect.
Washington is a no-fault divorce
state. We are also an equitable distribution state. Just
knowing those things does not mean that you can predict
with any certainty how your case should or will be
resolved. CTM has the experience to guide our clients,
suggesting fair outcomes for all sides as well as
parenting plans that serve the children's interest. Our
lawyers will meet with prospective clients to provide
information about Washington law as well as local
customs and practices. There is no obligation, of
course.
Divorce, Custody and Support Fees
CTM's family law attorneys charge a modest fee for a
no obligation consultation with a
prospective client. During that consultation, we will
discuss fees and costs, and provide you with a packet of
information to guide you through the dissolution,
modification or other family law case process. Our
initial advance fee deposit depends upon
the nature of the case: whether there are minor
children, whether there are complicated property issues,
whether one or both parties resides out-of-state, and
whether the client is willing to commit to making
regular monthly payments on his or her account. If you would like to schedule a consultation with
one of our attorneys, please contact us. If you are
out of the state or area, your consultation can take place
by telephone.
Community:
CTM has an outstanding reputation in the family law
arena. Most of our cases are referred to us by other
clients. We also receive referrals from other
attorneys, counselors, accountants and other
professionals who have had the opportunity to see our
work. All of CTM's family law attorneys serve at the Volunteer
Legal Clinic to provide free family law advice to
qualifying low income individuals.

Divorce, Custody and Support
Attorneys
We have four attorneys who work in the family law area,
assisted by four legal assistants. In addition we have
the firm-wide
support of an office manager, a receptionist and a
bookkeeper. Each of CTM's
attorneys is a member of the Family Law Section of the
Washington State Bar Association as well as the Family Law
Committee of the Thurston County Bar Association. We are
experienced in handling large and small cases. CTM can
help address such issues as community property, paternity,
living-together relationships, contested custody and
visitation disputes, business and professional practice
valuation, division of retirement benefits, modification
of child support, modification of parenting plans, and
numerous other aspects of family law.
Our attorneys and staff regularly attend (and often
serve as faculty for) continuing legal education
seminars on family law.
