CTM was a major sponsor of the premier annual fund raising event of the Dispute Resolution Center of Thurston County (DRC). The event, a “Toast to Chocolate,” was held on April 13, 2014. It generated more than $64,000 in funds to support the DRC’s training and mediation services to individuals, organizations and our courts. The Toast was also a ‘friend-raiser’ that brought friends, families and colleagues together to celebrate and remember why we care so deeply about the DRC’s important work.

CTM celebrated 2014 Office Professionals Day on April 11 with a lunch and an ‘Improv’ class. CTM attorney Chuck was the BBQ chef extraordinaire, serving a wonderful lunchtime spread anchored with fresh steelhead and shish kabobs. The improvisation class was led by Daniel & Kari Knutson-Bradac, co-founders of the YesAnd Conspiracy. Daniel is also a co-founder and artistic director of Oly Improv. We had an energetic (and often hilarious) afternoon of ‘improvisation’ activities.
For more information about YesAnd Conspiracy, go to their Facebook page at @ https://www.facebook.com/yesandconspiracy, or contact Daniel Knutson-Bradac at email@example.com or telephone 360-481-5989.

We are pleased to announce that three of our attorneys have received "AV," or "Preeminent," ratings from Martindale Hubbell, the nation's oldest lawyer rating service. Chuck Szurszewski, Carter Hick and Nate Kortokrax join attorneys Avelin Tacon and Chris Meserve, who had previously received AV ratings.
Jonathan Sprouffske, our youngest lawyer, has recently received a "BV," or "Distinguished," rating. He joins Stacie-Dee Motoyama, who also has a BV rating.
Congratulations to all!

Lenny Lucenko is the chair of the Thurston County Bar Association’s monthly lunchtime continuing legal education (CLE) program. In his capacity as chair, Lenny helps select and organize the speakers/topics that are presented to the local legal community. The December 2013 CLE focused on specialty courts in Thurston County, specifically the Mental Health and Veteran’s courts. The CLE scheduled for February 2014 focuses on food, farming and the law.

CTM is a proud supporter of the group Friends of Capitol Forest (FOCF). FOCF is a mountain bike based non-profit organization dedicated to maintaining and building trails in Capitol Forest. It holds regular trail maintenance work parties and organizes mountain bike rides on a weekly and monthly basis. Since some of our lawyers use the trails in Capitol Forest (an understatement), CTM is happy to contribute to FOCF's efforts!

In 2013, Lenny Lucenko chaired the Thurston County Bar Association's (TCBA) adopt-a-family program. With the help of the Salvation Army, TCBA and its members sponsored 31 families (118 individuals) and provided each family/family member with an individually wrapped gift. TCBA also raised an additional $1,992 from its members, which was gifted to the families in the form of Safeway gift cards.
Thank you to Lenny, the Salvation Army and the TCBA for another great Adopt-a-Family year!
